Bitcoin Bay
A meatspace Bitcoin community for the Tampa Bay area.
What it is
Bitcoin Bay is a 501(c)(3) community organization based in Tampa Bay. The work is local economic development — stacking sats, running nodes, helping the next person take self-custody, and pulling Bitcoin into the everyday economy of the bay area instead of leaving it as a screen full of charts.
Why it exists
Bitcoin's strongest pitch is peer-to-peer money. That pitch only lands when there are actual peers — neighbors, businesses, contractors, friends — willing to accept it, hold it, and use it. That work has to happen in real cities, in meatspace, with people who show up. Tampa Bay is the city we picked. Education and business onboarding are the long-arc levers; the meetups and the local events are the short-arc ones.
How to engage
Visit the foundation site for the calendar, the onboarding paths for businesses, and the way to plug in if you're in or near the bay area. If you're elsewhere and want to start something similar where you live, the foundation site is also the right place to start a conversation.
